WebFeed Central  We recently received an e-mail from Tom Simpson of WebFeed Central inquiring about the use of our music for a new and upcoming technology on the web. As a result of this recent communication, you can now hear JavaMusiK on PodCasts hosted at WebFeed Central as well as learn more about what a PodCast is. We are excited to be a small part of this breakthrough application and look forward to the evolution and growth thereof! a portion of proceeds from the sale of all JavaMusiK releases - available at CDBaby, FuNEnD3R.com and Melodrift Productions - were distributed to The Storm King Firefighter Memorial Fund in memory of the 14 Storm King Mountain firefighters who lost their lives. July 17, 2004: A press release is issued through PRWeb citing the return of Storm King Sacrifice to the Top 10 position in several of the internet mp3 and streaming audio piano charts.

July 14, 2004: Jeff's boyhood hometown paper, Oskaloosa (IA) Herald, features JavaMusiK's Jeff Van Devender in a cover story about Storm King Sacrifice relating to the 10 year anniversary of the tragic fire taking the lives of 14 firefighters. 
July 7, 2004: The Ottumwa (IA) Courier features Storm King Sacrifice in an editorial story relating to the 10 year anniversary of the tragic fire taking the lives of 14 firefighters.  July 5, 2004: The Grand Junction (CO) Daily Sentinel features Storm King Sacrifice in a series of stories relating to the 10 year anniversary of the tragic fire taking the lives of 14 firefighters. We are happy to announce that JavaMusiK has been awarded a "Top Ten Independent Musician Award: Summer 2004" from Melodrift Productions.  JavaMusiK recently received a favorable review for Synyrgyze! at the famed Gods Of Music site. Read it and see what you think. Storm King Sacrifice achieved a peak position of #2 last October on SoundClick's Acoustic Piano. It also peaked at #8 in the broader Acoustic Music chart. A press release detailing the story & origins of Storm King Sacrifice was recently distributed by several worldwide newswires, including eMediaWire. (Van Devender was a witness to the trajedy.) Another press release detailing the meteoric rise to the top of the charts can be located at this eMediaWire location. Since Sept. 11, 2003 proceeds from the sale of all JavaMusiK releases - available at CDBaby, FuNEnD3R.com and Melodrift Productions - will be distributed to a firefighter memorial fund. One hundred dollars has been contributed to the Memorial fund so far. This decision was reinforced after Van Devender's chance meeting with 3 of the 4 surviving members of FDNY Rescue #4 last Fall. A copy of Bending Chords with Storm King Sacrifice was recently sent to each of the families who lost someone in this trajedy. Many beautiful responses have been received from the families since. JavaMusiK is currently in the research phase of bringing together musicians for a JavaMusiK Troubador Series in selected sites throughout western Colorado. Money raised at these shows will contribute to a charity to be named later. We're happy to announce that Boulder musician, Dan Oakenhead has signed on to kick this series off. Dates and more info to be announced soon! JavaMusiK artist Jeff Van Devender was the featured Thanksgiving musical attraction at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado this year. He played for 5 hours Thanksgiving Day over lunch and early afternoon in the MacGregor Room. You may remember this fine historic destination resort as the home of Stephen King's "The Shining" as well as a beautiful, historic setting in the middle of the Rockies. | ||
